Oana Gherasim is our Culture & Wellbeing Manager, a newly-created role and in which she is responsible for maintaining Heartwood’s value and culture as we grow and, more importantly ensure that the welfare of our people at all levels in the business is at the heart of what we do. Oana took some time out to give her thoughts on what lies ahead for the business following the double win at The Caterer‘s People Awards last week.
As we grow, how important is it to preserve the culture that makes Heartwood such a special place for our people?
As Heartwood continues to grow, preserving our unique culture it’s so important. Our culture forms the foundation of everything we do, it’s what connects us, makes us feel valued and keeps us motivated. Growth brings exciting opportunities, but it also challenges us to remain true to the values that make Heartwood so special. By actively nurturing our culture, we ensure that every new team member experiences the same sense of belonging and purpose that has always defined us. Ultimately, our culture will enable us to grow sustainably and continue to thrive as a unified team. Our people are what make us special and we must keep the heart in Heartwood.
Who inspires you in the workplace and why?
In our workplace, inspiration is everywhere. It’s in the passion and dedication of every person, from our magnificent Head Office people to the wonderful teams working in our sites. It’s in the way each person shows up every day, no matter how challenging the times, bringing their energy, passion, dedication, creativity, and resilience to the table. I’m so inspired by the collective spirit – the way every single one of our people contributes to the magic we create together, driving us forward with a shared sense of purpose and pride. It’s truly motivating to work alongside people who are not only incredibly hard-working but genuinely care about what we do and the difference we make.
Thank you Oana!
