Bucharest, May 27, 2025 — Over 10,000 visitors gathered this weekend in Crângași Park, Bucharest, drawn to ASTROFEST, Romania’s largest festival of education, science, and astronomy. Among the event’s longstanding supporters was, once again, SIMAVI, the Romanian software development and integration company, which made a memorable appearance this year.

At the SIMAVI Virtual Reality booth, visitors of all ages experienced captivating demonstrations of digital lessons developed through international eLearning projects. These solutions are already being used globally—from European Commission institutions to schools for students with learning difficulties, and even by companies handling hazardous materials. The result? Significantly improved performance through the integration of emerging technologies.

Another highlight that caught the public’s attention was the participation of Alexandru Coșbuc-Ionescu, SIMAVI Vice President, in the debate “AI – Pros and Cons”, held on the festival stage in partnership with Știință & Tehnică magazine.

The Central Topic:

What impact does Artificial Intelligence have on jobs and human creativity?

“Will AI take our jobs? Will it become more creative than artists, writers, or composers?” — these were the core questions posed during the debate.

Drawing on experience from dozens of international AI integration projects, Alexandru Coșbuc-Ionescu provided a clear perspective:
AI is not a threat, but an accelerator of human potential.

AI doesn’t replace people. It complements them.

According to a 2024 McKinsey report, by 2030, 60–70% of workers will experience significant changes in their daily responsibilities due to automation, but only 5% of occupations will be fully eliminated. Simultaneously, new professions will emerge—from prompt designers, to AI ethics curators, and digital educators.

Creativity remains a uniquely human domain.
AI can generate music, texts, and images, but it cannot feel or understand the deep emotional or cultural context. Technology thus becomes a partner, not a competitor.

The Key Takeaway?

Those who learn to collaborate effectively with AI will have a significant advantage in the coming years. Organizations that invest in digital upskilling and foster a culture of augmented creativity will lead the transition.

Instead of fearing AI, now is the time to learn how to use it meaningfully. The future of work is augmented, not automated.

SIMAVI’s message is clear:

“If we want to stay relevant, we need to learn to work with AI — just as we had to learn to use Google 20 years ago.”

Through its active presence at events that promote science and innovation, SIMAVI reaffirms its commitment to digital education, inclusion, and preparing society for a future augmented by technology.
