Silver screen tough guy Sylvester “Sly” Stallone relisted his longtime Los Angeles mansion on Tuesday with a freshly trimmed $85 million price tag.
The new ask is $25 million less than the $110 million sticker price that the actor first slapped on the memorabilia-loaded estate when it emerged on the market in January, listing records show.
“In the beginning, they were not sure whether they wanted to sell the house. Because of that, they listed it high until they really made the decision they wanted to sell,” said to Jade Mills of Coldwell Banker Realty, who shares the listing with Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency. The Stallones have now decided to sell in earnest, she added.
Dubbed a “world-class celebrity contemporary Mediterranean compound,” in its listing, the property is set within the city’s upmarket, guard-gated and star-studded Beverly Park community.
Tucked away behind gates and at the end of a cul-de-sac, the secluded estate is centered around a six-bedroom main house.
While the house is huge, it’s a “very, very comfortable house to live in,” Ms. Mills said. “It’s a family house—it’s a sexy house—but it’s still a family house.”
The actor’s mark on the home is unmistakable. There are numerous “Rambo” and “Rocky”-inspired artworks and sculptures throughout that pay homage to his movies—including one that looms over the pool.
“It has a lot of personality for sure,” Ms. Mills said. “Every room is special.”
There’s a two-story foyer, a screening room, a gym, a cigar room, panoramic city and canyon views from every room.
A stand out feature for Ms. Mills is the home’s bar. “Everything is so detailed and it’s just perfection,” she said.
Elsewhere on the 3.5-acre site, there’s a two-bedroom Richard Landry-designed guesthouse, sprawling lawns, patios, a putting green, an infinity pool and spa, an eight-car garage and an art studio, according to the listing.
With all those amenities, “you really don’t have to leave the house,” Ms. Mills said, something that’s “a very big plus with buyers.”
Even with the price cut, the Stallone residence is nearly three times as expensive as his neighbor’s house—the estate of late billionaire media mogul Sumner Redstone. That home listed last month for $27.9 million, Mansion Global reported first.
Mr. Stallone, 74, and his wife, Jennifer Flavin, have owned the home through a trust since 1998, property records show. It’s unclear how much they paid for the property.
In December, Mr. Stallone snapped up a $35.3 million waterfront compound in Florida’s upmarket Palm Beach, a home with oversized windows, vaulted ceilings, a gym, a temperature-controlled wine room and more than 250-feet of sandy water frontage.
A representative for the star didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
